Cockwells scoops international industry award for superior superyacht tender

A head-turning superyacht tender designed and custom-built by Cornish boatbuilder, Cockwells has won the Tender & Support Vessel Design category of the prestigious international 2017 ShowBoats Design Awards at a glittering awards ceremony in Austria.

The Mylor-based boatbuilder’s 9.5m Limousine scooped this coveted award in the face of significant competition from across the globe.

The ShowBoats Design Awards honour the creative talents behind the most innovative, elegant and inspiring new yacht designs from the drawing boards of the world’s leading yacht design studios and award trophies in twelve categories that include the best sailing and motor yacht interiors, exteriors and naval architecture designs.

The 9.5m Limousine was built as a tender to an 88m superyacht and demonstrates Cockwells’ seemingly limitless flexibility when it comes to delivering exclusive custom-builds without compromise on quality or seakeeping. With a spacious saloon for up to 12 guests, her soft leather and warm wood interior creates an environment that radiates luxury and serenity even at her top speed of more than 30 knots.

“We are thrilled to have won this highly contested category of a truly global industry awards scheme that included such excellent tenders from Compass and Aston Martin,” says Founder & Managing Director, Dave Cockwell. “This award is testament to our winning partnership with renowned naval architect, Andrew Wolstenholme as well as the skill and ingenuity of our in-house team of designers, technicians and craftsmen. Their capacity to custom-build in exquisite detail to the precise requirements of our growing client base is second to none and I am proud to share this award with them.”
