Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding is delighted to launch the fourth model in its popular Duchy Motor Launches series – the Duchy 45 – at this year’s Southampton Boat Show (14 to 23 September, Stand M200 and M202), with the first two already sold and in production.
Duchy Motor Launches are classically-designed, handcrafted, semi-production vessels that are created in the Duchy of Cornwall by Cockwells’ skilled craftsmen whose design flair, expertise and exacting standards are second-to-none.
Built in low maintenance composites, Duchy Motor Launches can be customised to your exact specifications with a seemingly infinite number of optional extras: from teak decks to custom crockery, china and glassware in tailor-made stowage.
A spacious and highly accessible luxury weekender/family cruiser, the Duchy 45 combines superb seakeeping with elegant lines and is ideal for all levels of experience – from the seasoned sailor who wishes to undertake longer voyages to the young family seeking fun on the water.
With an expansive saloon and cockpit that provides ample space for up to 12 day guests or two luxurious double berths, this design also offers additional flexibility with its alternative layouts.
“The Duchy 45 can provide double en-suite master accommodation, an en-suite guest cabin with either a twin or double berth, and a galley with large saloon down below,” explains Founder & Managing Director, Dave Cockwell. “Alternatively, there is the option to move the galley up and replace it with an additional single or twin cabin for friends, children or crew. Cockwells’ in-house team and Andrew Wolstenholme have designed the Duchy 45 to incorporate excellent seakeeping with a high-quality finish and maximum style, whichever layout and bespoke features you require. We are excited to be launching the Duchy 45 at this year’s Southampton Boat Show and delighted that we are coming to the Show with two boats already sold.”
Full-width saloon doors offer seamless transit between exterior and interior spaces. Take in panoramic sea views through a full-size sunroof. Sunbathe on the capacious foredeck. Store your 3.2m dinghy on the bathing platform without compromising on access to the walkthrough transom gate. High bulwarks and low side decks allow for safe and easy manoeuvrability all around the boat, with side access to the deck from the steering position through a sliding door. You can also select a gyro stabiliser option, a flybridge option, a wet room and a fully-integrated control system at the helm for your convenience and comfort.
A range of engine options and a 2000 litre capacity fuel tank enable an exceptional cruising range for this semi-displacement motor vessel. Two 435 HP Volvo engines with IPS drives would deliver 32 knots. If you prefer, a shaft-drive option is available as well.
“Constructed to our exemplary standards with an interior fit-out to match, the ultimate in space utilisation, a highly capable engine package and an impressive design provenance, the Duchy 45 offers a tempting prospect for those who appreciate something truly special,” adds Dave Cockwell. “What’s more, the design is ready and waiting for us to customise to your exact specifications to make it uniquely yours.”
The price for the standard boat will be in the region of £800k plus VAT.
Cockwells’ entire fleet of Duchy Motor Launches – the Duchy 21, Duchy 27 and Duchy 35 –which was crowned winner of the Wheelhouse and Cockpit Cruisers category of Motor Boat & Yachting magazine’s annual Motor Boat of the Year Awards – will also be exhibited in the Marina.
