cockwells landing craft
October 6, 2016 Cockwells launches sleek new design for 14.5m custom landing craft

No sooner have Cockwells returned from the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show – where their two state-of-the-art 7m superyacht tenders were on board their award-winning mothership, the 70m Perini Navi ketch, Sybaris – than they are launching a new design in their premier collection of custom builds.

This sleek new design for a 14.5m custom landing craft, created by Cockwells’ talented in-house team, offers the ultimate in luxury, combining cutting edge engineering, materials and technology with the high levels of artisan craftsmanship for which this British boatbuilder is renowned.

With its 14.5m LOA and 3.4m beam, two helm seats starboard, a forward-facing bench seat on the front of the helm console and a day head inside it that is accessed by a sliding door, this stunning custom landing craft offers maximum space and comfort for 12 guests and two crew members. Alternatively, its load area can carry a Range Rover Sentinel or similar vehicle – the choice is yours.

Whichever version you choose, this innovative design utilises the latest technology and materials to the max.

If you seek a spacious luxury vessel to accommodate your guests, beach seats rise from the sole via electric struts. If you choose the car carrying option, a hydraulic bow ramp prevents the boat from grounding as the car drives on, stops it lifting when the car drives off and ensures that the whole platform is completely stable when ashore.

A modular floor system with various attachment/fixing points, a crane on the port side and a folding carbon fibre Bimini cover add further technological flair.

“Once again, we are combining innovative engineering with exquisite craftsmanship to produce a design that stands out from the crowd, utilises every inch of space including bow storage for the anchor and fenders, and incorporates a wealth of features that make it highly desirable and a joy to handle,” explains Founder and Managing Director, Dave Cockwell. “In this, our twentieth year of building beautiful bespoke boats, we are delighted to launch this 14.5m custom landing craft and are confident that there is no other British design to rival it. We look forward to hearing from potential clients who would like to work with us to custom-build it to their precise requirements and make it uniquely theirs.”
