Duchy 35 Kookaburra is now berthed in Roseville Bridge Marina, within Sydney’s iconic harbour, and is attracting admiring glances from all who encounter her.
 
The Duchy 35’s tried and tested design offers every conceivable comfort and it was our pleasure to customise this one specifically for Antipodean adventures with the continent’s climate and seafaring conditions in mind.
 
Instead of finishing this vessel with timber, which is challenging to preserve in intense sunshine, we replaced it with fibreglass, aluminium and glass, with Flexiteek decking and highlights, to minimise maintenance, maximise pleasure and maintain aesthetic.
 
Twin V8 Yanmar diesel engines and a Seakeeper gyro stabiliser provide a smooth and stable ride, even in choppier conditions, whilst a long-range fuel tank, generator, autopilot and radar provide all the high-end technical equipment required for sailing greater distances.
 
For day-boating, there is plenty of space for luxury lunches and socialising, a generously-sized swim platform, and remote connectivity systems that enable the owners to flick on the air conditioning before they return aboard from enjoying a barbecue on the beach.
