Duchy Motor Launches are classically-designed, handcrafted, semi-production vessels that are created in the Duchy of Cornwall by Cockwells’ skilled craftsmen whose design flair, expertise and exacting standards are second-to-none.

Following the earlier success of the brand’s flagship – the Duchy 27 – Cockwells celebrated the start of its 20th year in the business of building beautiful bespoke boats by unveiling this new model – the Duchy 21 – at the Southampton Boat Show last September. It was there that the Scrimshaws commissioned their very own version of this head-turning boat.

With her ample cockpit space for up to ten guests, the Duchy 21 has been created specifically for spending quality time on the water with friends and family, and offers the perfect platform for cruising and relaxing; for day trips and picnics. Waterproof cushions can be added to create a forward double sunbed. The sunbed can be converted into a spacious overnight double berth or a fully-enclosed cockpit when skies turn grey with ingenious sprayhoods that have been deftly engineered to disappear when not in use to preserve the Duchy 21’s sleek appearance.

“We chose the Duchy 21 because it is a spacious, beautifully-made day boat, which can easily accommodate several people to cruise and eat in comfort – it is also very user friendly for taller people,” add Marc and Louise Scrimshaw. “We love the fact that we can fold the spray hoods into the body of the boat and that we could choose the exact colour scheme we wanted. All in all, it’s a beautiful boat for the beautiful Broads.”

Built in low-maintenance composites and powered by either diesel engine or electric motor, the highly versatile Duchy 21 is a capable sea-going boat that is also ideal for inland waters. She can be towed on a road trailer and launched almost anywhere – at the coast, or on the river, fjord or lake.
