This year the company exported boats to Italy and Norway and is currently building a tender that is bound for China.

The sales team of Cockwells in Mylor Bridge have just come back from a September packed with boat shows. Two Cornish built superyacht tenders were exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of the month. They attracted international acclaim and were featured in many superyacht press publications all over the world. British craftsmanship is still the biggest selling point for this local boatyard that has managed to get a foot in the door of the international superyacht industry. Perhaps the most impressive achievement so far is the export of a Cockwells tender to China. The 9.5m Limousine Tender currently in build will be tender to an 88m superyacht. She was designed by the in-house team of designers at Cockwells in collaboration with naval architect Andrew Wolstenholme.

The news that they have secured an export order from a Chinese customer is fantastic and proof that quality British brands are much sought after in this developing market”.

Just before Monaco, hundreds of people came to see the handcrafted Cornish boats which attracted enormous attention at the Southampton International Boat Show where Cockwells unveiled the brand new 33ft wooden launch Impulsive, a modern gentleman’s launch with traditional looks. She combines the most advanced navigational systems with the warm glow of Cornish chestnut interiors. Next to her at the boat show, Duchy Dove was attracting just as much attention with her bright red hull. She is the eighth Duchy 27 built in Cornwall and her elegant lines seduced more than one boat enthusiast at the show resulting in more orders and more work for the boat builders!
