Craftsmanship

The Cockwells Academy

We are committed to sharing time-honoured skills with the next generation of craftsmen

The Cockwells Academy, in partnership with Falmouth Marine School, is for the boatbuilders of the future.

Aimed primarily at 16- to 19-year-olds, it involves enrolment on a full-time City & Guilds Level 2 course in Boatbuilding or Marine Engineering, and attending specific work experience days and masterclasses at our Mylor Creek Boatyard for one academic year.

Each year, up to ten applicants will be selected to benefit from real-time work experience as well as access to our highly-skilled craftsmen and elements of the boatbuilding process.
