The Cornish boatyard’s latest customisation of its popular Duchy 35 is no exception. After winning the Wheelhouse and Cockpit Cruisers category of Motor Boat & Yachting magazine’s 2018 Motor Boat of the Year Awards last year, the luxury weekender/family cruiser now also comes with 2 double cabins.

Duchy Motor Launches are classically-designed, handcrafted, semi-production vessels that are created in the Duchy of Cornwall by Cockwells’ skilled craftsmen whose design flair, expertise and exacting standards are beyond compare.

Built in low maintenance composites, Duchy Motor Launches are customarily defined by the seemingly infinite number of optional extras that can be incorporated – from teak decks and leather seating to custom glassware in tailor-made stowage.

Now, an even broader range of customisations revolutionise layout, look and ease of use.

As well as the twin-cabin layout, there are other takes on these modern classics.

A recently-launched Duchy 35 retains its customary navy blue hull but is clad in teak and has a walnut interior, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Cockwells’ artisan boatbuilders. A single touchscreen display offers uncomplicated control of all on-board systems.

The latest Duchy 27 to depart the Mylor Creek Boatyard sports an aqua blue hull and benefits from design changes that result in more storage for fuel and water as well as improved weight distribution and sound-proofing.

Three concepts on the drawing board offer further adaptations for other climates.
A white-hulled Duchy 35 specifically for the Mediterranean offers two sun beds, fore or aft; an air-conditioned saloon, electric Bimini, easy-access bathing platform and swimming ladder.

A flybridge option offers additional space with further seating for three that converts into sunbeds, a folding Bimini, the convenience of a table that slides out from beneath the helm console and tender storage.

For Scandinavian shores, an aft windlass for bow-to mooring, a pulpit with a gate and a bow passerelle or ladder enhances already excellent manoeuvrability.
